I’ve been friends with Ashley since the fourth grade so when she asked me to be her wedding photographer, I squealed with excitement! And when I got to meet her amazing husband Brandon at their engagement session, I was so happy for her because he’s just the best! They love each other fiercely and are really and truly each other’s best friends. Growing up we always talked boys and relationships and all of the fun and drama that goes with it! Knowing that Ashley was marrying such a kind, giving and funny man (and I’m tearing up just writing this) made the day even more special.
I can go on and on, but I think their story is better told by Brandon. 🙂
On our first real date, we had a simple dinner and a movie. The movie was nice and simple – Die Hard in 3D, dinner on the other was a little more complicated. At dinner within the first minute of having my soda, I happened to spill it all in my lap. In 20 degree weather, I ran across the parking lot to a department store to buy myself some dry pants. I didn’t realize they were skinny jeans…only me. The night went smoothly afterward. After dropping her off at her house I think that’s when I started falling in love. A few months later, after we both had to chisel away at each other’s guarded hearts, I built up the courage to tell her I loved her and I was blessed when she said it right back.
Fast forward a few more months I was endeavoring in CDL school, which would have taken me away for about 6 weeks. I was willing to do this to help us build our future. I came home one night from my cooking job to the woman I love sitting at the kitchen table in tears. She told me that she didn’t want me to leave. That was the night that I quickly realized I could not live happily without her in my life. Years later, through our ups and downs, I still fall in love with her more and more every day, in this adventure that we all call life. I can’t wait to spend it all with the woman I’m truly meant to be with, soon to be Mrs. Cordero.
Thank you to all of the wonderful Pittsburgh vendors I got to work with who helped make their day so special!
